Millions of people kidnapped in their African villages were sold on this island, never to return. The project started by David Palac\u00edn (Le\u00f3n, 1975) on Gor\u00e9e seeks to repeat this one-way, but also return, journey. In the first stage of the project, he takes portraits of its current inhabitants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: inherit;\">La Isla de Gorea (en franc\u00e9s, \u00cele de Gor\u00e9e), situada frente a la costa de Senegal, fue el m\u00e1s importante mercado de esclavos del mundo durante m\u00e1s de tres siglos. Millones de personas raptadas en sus aldeas africanas fueron vendidas en esta isla para no regresar jam\u00e1s.
